Hagersville hangs on, beats Glanbrook 2-1
The Hagersville Hawks took the lead against the Glanbrook Rangers in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 2-1 victory.
Hagersville took over the lead for good with a goal by Cole Martin at 9:04 in the first period. Matt Lemassuir picked up the assist.With the win, the Hawks avoided elimination to make the series score 3-3 in the best of seven series.
Hagersville's Stephen Tierney was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 37 saves and let only one puck past him. Tierney managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.63 prior to the game.
The Hawks were led by Clayton Millard, who had one goal. Millard scored 7:49 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Hagersville.
Hagersville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.
Glanbrook's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Hagersville power plays. The Rangers' offense rang up 38 shots on the Hawks' net.
Glanbrook was led by Cole Anderson, who scored the team's only goal. Anderson scored 11:56 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Hagersville. Brett Farrelly assisted on the tally.
