OJHL: SCOTIABANK NEW TITLE SPONSOR OF FAN FAVOURITE AWARD
Voting in 7th annual competition now open across 22-team league
The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) today announced that Scotiabank will be the title sponsor of the of the seventh annual Scotiabank Fan Favourite Award.
“We are extremely happy to have Scotiabank as part of the OJHL Fan Favourite Award”, said Marty Savoy, Commissioner of the OJHL. Scotiabank’s commitment to the sport of hockey is very evident with all that they do at the grass roots level and is certainly a welcomed addition to the OJHL, Savoy said.
The Scotiabank Fan Favourite Award was presented for the first time following the 2011-12 season and has OJHL fans vote online to choose their favourite OJHL star. All fans will be allowed to submit players names in an online form found on the homepage of the OJHL website, www.ojhl.ca. The winner will be the player that receives the most submissions (votes) through the course of the online voting.
Voting begins today (February 1, 2018) and will run throughout the playoffs, ending at 5pm EST on Saturday, March 31, 2018. The winner of the seventh annual Scotiabank Fan Favourite Award will be unveiled prior to Game 1 or 2 of the OJHL Championship Series during the seventh annual OJHL Awards Ceremony.
Once again this year, the award will be presented to the winning player by a selected fan from the winning player’s city, on-ice, during the award ceremony prior to Game 1 or 2 of the OJHL Championship Series.
Last year saw more than 30,000 votes cast for more than 170 different players and through six years of Scotiabank Fan Favourite Award balloting, close to 200,000 votes have been registered.
