OHA remembers the Humboldt Broncos
CAMBRIDGE, Ont. - April 6 marks the somber two-year anniversary of the Humboldt Broncos tragedy.
On April 6, 2018 the nation faced devastation when 16 members of the Humboldt Broncos lost their lives in a horrific accident. We continue to remember them and their loved ones every day.
Not a day goes by that the hockey community and nation doesn't think of the Broncos. Today, the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) joins the hockey community and nation in remembering all of those affected by this tragedy.
“Two years have passed since this horrible accident and not a day goes by that the hockey world doesn’t think about those affected and the impact it had on so many lives,” said OHA Executive Director Scott Stevens. “Please join the Ontario Hockey Association in remembering the 16 Broncos who lost their lives, and their respective friends, teammates and families.”
The following thoughts were also shared by Hockey Canada Chief Executive Officer Tom Renney:
"We are all part of Canada's largest team. And, when tragedy strikes we know how best to come together, to embrace each other, to forge ahead and accept what lies in front of us. From coast to coast to coast, all across this country, we will continue to remember those from the Humboldt Broncos tragedy, those that perished, the 13 that survived and the families of both. We remain, #HumboldtStrong."
On this day, we remember the Humboldt Broncos.
