New Hamburg outlasts Ayr, 4-3

With the win, New Hamburg evened the series at one-one in the best of seven showdown

Firebirds were paced by Tyler Randerson, who tallied one goal. Randerson scored on the power play in overtime to make the score 4-3 New Hamburg. Andrew Boer picked up the assist.

New Hamburg were ineffective while on the power play, as they were held to two goals off of ten man advantages.Firebirds kept Centennials's goalie busy throughout the game, and Mitch Figueirdo made 50 saves on 54 shots.

New Hamburg also had goals scored by Colin Martin, Chris Eckert, and Quinten Haddock, who each put in one. In addition, New Hamburg received assists from Boer, who had two and Carter Tracey, David Jennings, and Mario Alyas, who each chipped in one.

Ayr kept New Hamburg's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Purcell made 54 saves on 57 shots.

Centennials were helped by Mitch Klie, who grabbed one goal.Klie scored on the power play in the second period to make the score 3-2 Ayr. The score was assisted by Cash Seraphim and Connor MacLean.Ayr additionally got points from Seraphim, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Ayr included Ben Roelofson and Klie, who scored one each. More assists for Ayr came via Jake Whibbs, MacLean, Zachary Masterson, and Sean Mitchell, who contributed one apiece.

Firebirds incurred ten minutes in penalty time with five minors. Ayr incurred 36 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
