The Blenheim Blades will kick off their Provincial Junior Hockey League Stobbs Division best-of-seven quarter final playoff series Thursday night when they host their arch rivals – the Dresden Kings – at 7 p.m. at the Blenheim arena.

Game 2 will be in Dresden Monday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m.

The series will return to Blenheim for Game 3 Thursday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m., with Game 4 back in Dresden Friday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m.

Game 5, if needed, will return to Blenheim Sunday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m., with Game 6, if needed Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 in Dresden, and Game 7, if needed, Thursday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.

The series for the teams is the second against each other in the last two years, with the Blades winning in six games last year to advance to the semi-finals where they were eliminated in six games by the Amherstburg Admirals.

It is also the fourth time the two teams have met in the quarter-final playoffs since the 2011-12 season, with the Kings winning in 2011-12 and 2012-13 in six games each time.

In 2013-14 the Blades ousted the Mooretown Flags in six games, and did the same to the Alvinston Flyers in 2014-15.
