Essex blanks Blades 4-0
ESSEX – A look at the game sheet for the Blenheim Blades and Essex ’73s Provincial Junior Hockey League Stobbs Division matchup Tuesday night in Essex reveals that the game was essentially over at the 19 second mark of the first period.
Essex veteran William Stradder put the puck behind Blades netminder Chris DeWulf with just 19 ticks off the clock, and that goal was all the ’73s needed enroute to a 4-0 shutout that saw the Blades record drop to 2-3-0-1 after six starts.
Stadder scored again at 16:18 of the second period; with Dallas Anderson making it 3-0 on a powerplay before the middle 20 minutes was complete.
Quinn Fazekas upped the Essex lead to 4-0 at 3:38 of the third period.
