Amherstburg downs Essex in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Amherstburg Integrity Admirals' Luke Gangnon scored 8:37 into overtime to beat the Essex 73s, 3-2 (OT).

The win by Amherstburg broke a deadlock and gave the Integrity Admirals a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

Amherstburg was led by Gangnon, who tallied one goal.

Amherstburg also had goals scored by Curtis Prymack and Broden Meloche, who each put in one. More assists for Amherstburg came via Kasey Basile, who had two and Ryan Holzel, Dylan Muzzatti, and Ryan Alexander, who contributed one each.

Essex stifled the Integrity Admirals' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Amherstburg was unable to stop the 73s from sending pucks towards the net, and Essex eventually piled up 47 shots on goal.

The 73s were helped by Luke Gecse, who had one goal. Gecse scored 2:52 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Riley Meyerink picked up the assist. Essex also got a goal from Tyler Boughner as well. Other players who recorded assists for Essex were Kade McKibbin and Anthony Cristofaro, who each chipped in one.

Connor Meyerink recorded 45 saves for the Integrity Admirals. Amherstburg incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Essex's Trevor Wheaton stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The 73s incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
