The Exeter Hawks (10-2) knew that they would have a tough weekend ahead of them, as they had to play three games in a row, however, they were all in front of a home crowd. Exeter dropped the big matchup on Sunday, as they lost 5-0 to a team that is battling it out with them for first in the SOJHL, the Dorchester Dolphins (10-1). The Hawks were more successful earlier in the weekend, starting with a 6-4 win over the Lucan Irish (4-7). The Irish had a 4-1 lead with one minute left in the second period, but the Hawks showed some resiliency, coming back to win 6-4. The comeback was thanks to great effort from leading scorer Chase Thornton, who collected five points, including a hat trick. The Hawks followed up that win with a victory over the Lambeth Lancers, again by the score of 6-4. With the game tied 2-2, the Hawks scored three unanswered goals through the second and third to put the game out of reach.
