Little Britain falls to Port Perry in overtime, 5-4 (OT)
The Port Perry Mojacks pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the Little Britain Merchants on a clutch goal by Konrad Piorkowski.
Port Perry was led by Piorkowski, who had one goal. Piorkowski scored 2:02 into overtime to make the score 5-4 Port Perry. Dan Harris picked up the assist.
In the losing effort, Little Britain was paced by Terry Snoddon, who racked up two goals. Snoddon scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 9:07 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Port Perry. The Merchants had gained a power play chance when Matt Trudel was whistled for hooking. Keegan Cairns assisted on the tally. Snoddon's next tally on the power play made the score 4-4 with 2:23 left in the third period. A hooking penalty on Kyle Schweda had put Little Britain on the power play.
The Mojacks forced the Merchants goalie Adam Harris to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.
Port Perry also got points from Lucas Berkers, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Lucas Clark, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Port Perry also had goals scored by Todd McNair and Ethan Ramsden, who each put in one. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Andrew Pickering, Jordan McCullough, Chris Polito, and Ryan Bernardes, who contributed one each.
Port Perry was unable to stop Little Britain from sending pucks towards the net, and the Merchants eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.
Others who scored for Little Britain included Nathan Watson and Derek Risebrough, who scored one goal each. More assists for Little Britain came via Jesse Beers, who had one and Kenzie Smith, who had two.
Blake Shaw rejected 28 shots on goal for the Mojacks. Port Perry incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Harris recorded 41 saves for Little Britain. The Merchants incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
