Weekend Recap and Week Ahead

FRIDAY NIGHT RECAP:
 
The Navy Vets beat Burford 9-0 on Friday night at Southwood Arena...
Captain Jake Schneider led the Vets with 2 goals while Dylan Wettlaufer and Tyler Arsenault each had 1 goal and 2 assists... Dan Haig, Chris Nauts, Garrett Kirby (with his 1st as a Vet), Jack Taylor, and Brody Hunt scored the other goals... Mike Harrison made 28 saves to record his 1st junior shutout...
The Vets had 57 shots at 2 Bulldogs goalies and scored 3 times in each period...
 
The 9 goals was the most scored by the Vets since winning 10-3 vs Paris at Southwood Arena on Oct 24 2009... it was also the largest margin of victory in over a decade...
 
 
SATURDAY NIGHT RECAP:
 
The Navy Vets got down by 3 goals in the 1st half of the opening period in New Hamburg on Saturday night and couldn't recover as they fell 6-1 to the Firebirds... one night after having their biggest scoring outburst in almost 7 years !!!
Down 4-0 after 2 periods Vets defenceman Cam Leslie finally broke the goose egg with a goal early in the 3rd... but NH replied quickly and then added 1 more late in the game to seal the victory...
North Davies and Mike Harrison shared the goaltending duties for the Vets facing a total of 32 shots... 
 
 
VETS CURRENT STANDING:
 
The Vets now have a 1-2 record and sit in 6th place...

 

 

THE WEEK AHEAD:
 
The Vets will host Wellesley at Southwood Arena on Friday night @ 7:45pm for BREAST CANCER AWARENESS NIGHT !!!...
