Stars to Donate "Chuck A Puck" Proceeds to Easter Seals Ontario
The North Middlesex Stars will be donating their proceeds from the "Chuck-A-Puck" event to Easter Seals Ontario that will take place in the second intermission of the Stars home game against Lucan on Sunday afternoon.
On Sunday, the Stars will be hosting not only the Lucan Irish but young Emerson, of London, who lives with Cebral Palsy, Sensory Processing Disorder, & Epilepsy. Currently five years old, Emerson was given less than a 1% chance of living at birth and it has been her life long dream to be able to skate with the Toronto Maple Leafs, her favourite team.
"We left it up to them what charity they would like us to donate to, and right away, they knew it had to be Easter Seals," said Stars GM Hayden Maass.
It had to be Easter Seals Ontario because Easter Seals puts on a skate with the Toronto Maple Leafs every year. Participants who are able to raise $200 for Easter Seals Ontario are automatically entered to win this once in a lifetime opportunity on December 17th.
"Emer (Emerson) wants this so bad, so it's awesome to be able to contribute in this way and make a difference for her," Maass continued. "Beyond making that difference, I hope she can find some role models on our team she can look up to and forge a special bond with, I know our guys are excited to meet her."
Easter Seals Ontario is a charity that helps kids with disabilities, various equipment costs and also provides an opportunity for kids to go to their camps in the summertime.
