Stars Acquire Hard-Nosed Vandehogen
The North Middlesex Stars are pleased to announce the acquisition of D Drew Vandehogen from the Blenheim Blades of the neighbouring Stobbs Division.
Vandehogen, 18, joins the Stars after spending one and a half seasons with his hometown Blenheim team and will do so while attending Fanshawe College in London. The big, hard-nosed Vandehogen will add some much needed size and strength to a Stars blueline that saw two of the league's best age out following the conclusion of the Stars semi final playoff exit in March.
This isn't the first time in recent memory that the North Middlesex Stars have completed a trade with the Blenheim Blades as the Stars acquired Kain Hopkins from the Blades last off season.
Vandehogen, a graduate of the Chatham-Kent Cyclones AAA program will make his debut when the Stars exhibition season opens up oddly enough against the Blenheim Blades on August 26th in Strathroy.
