The North Middlesex Stars and the Mt. Brydges Bulldogs are extremely excited to announce the 2nd coming of the ‘Battle of 81 – Powered by McDonnell Motors.’ This best of five series throughout the regular season between the Stars and the Bulldogs will open up on September 28th at the Tri-Township Arena in Mt. Brydges.

McDonnell Motors in Strathroy returns as the title sponsor for the series between the two teams who share Highway 81.

“It’s great to have McDonnell back for this year’s version of the ‘Battle of 81,’ said Stars GM Hayden Maass. “It’s really the perfect fit. They’re located in Strathroy, extremely active in the community, and pretty much right in between where we are in North Middlesex and Mt. Brydges.”

Last season, the Stars were able to provide some promotional items, signage space, social media help including a Snapchat Filter, and more to the title sponsor and this year they would like to do even more. “There’s still more we can do,” Maass admits. “The series became such a talking point between players and their groups of friends at school, work, or in their shared community it’s important that we come up with new contests and ways we can engage with people and get their hands on tickets.”

Last season, in the inaugural ‘Battle of 81 – Powered by McDonnell Motors’ the Mt. Brydges Bulldogs emerged victorious using all five games to do it defeating the Stars 3-2.

“At the end of the day, it’s about giving our players something extra to play for, our fans something extra to cheer for, our communities something extra to get excited about and brag about and we thank McDonnell Motors for all of this."
