Stars Add Strength in Management

PARKHILL - The North Middlesex Stars Jr. C Hockey Club are pleased to announce the appointment of Ben Van De Peer as the Assistant General Manager for the 2019-20 season.

A native of Chatham, Ontario, Ben comes to the Stars with a wealth of hockey knowledge and experience both as a player and as a coach/mentor. Van De Peer’s off-ice hockey experience first took flight in 1998 while coaching minor hockey in Sweden with the Swedish Brake Polar Bears. Always one for learning the ropes, Ben has learned some tricks of the trade under former NHL’er and 1972 Team Canada member Pat Stapleton studying Pat’s Fundamentals in Action (F.I.A) Hockey program which has been prevalent in the coaching realm since the mid-1980’s in both Canada and the United States. In addition to Ben’s hockey travels and studies, he has coached, trained, and managed for 10+ years at various levels of the game.

During the off-season, Ben lends his hockey excellence and knowledge to various players from house league, junior hockey, university hockey, and within the semi-professional ranks.

Away from the arena, Ben and his wife Kori have 3 children. His oldest is currently attending a Prep School in Indiana on a scholarship at Culver Military Academy. As for Ben, he is a graduate from Fanshawe College’s Electronics Engineering Robotics and Process Control program and is currently working as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager in the Automotive Industry.
