Thank you Bruins Fans for Teddy Toss Night!

Shane Smith Triggered an avalanche of Teddy Bears when he scored at the 4:56 mark of the first period. Bruins fans threw out 101 teddy Bears for the Uxbridge Toy Drive. The Uxbridge Bruins used a four-goal second period to put away the Georgina Ice, 8-0.

 

Uxbridge was boosted by Jake Joosten, who turned in a shutout with 27 saves. Joosten certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.0 entering the contest.

Shane Smith was all over the ice for the Bruins, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Smith scored 4:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Uxbridge.

Uxbridge stifled Georgina's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bruins was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Uxbridge averages 2.6 goals allowed per game. The Bruins' offense rang up 54 shots on the Ice's net. Uxbridge's goal total was higher than its season average. The Bruins average 4.0 goals per game. Uxbridge struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 44 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

Uxbridge additionally got points from Daryl Thomson, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Jarett Smith, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Uxbridge also had goals scored by Todd Winder, who had three and Alex Siblock and Owen Scuralli APM, who each put in one. More assists for Uxbridge came via Marco Mastrangelo, who had two and Adam Bartholomew, Robert Freckleton, Jason Simmonds, Korey Brand, and Patrick Bolahood, who each chipped in one.

Georgina excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in 11 chances. The Ice did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Georgina averages 2.7 goals per game. The Ice could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 62 minutes in penalties during the game.

Georgina's Vincenzo DElia stopped 46 shots out of the 54 that he faced. The Ice ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Derek Risebrough APM was ejected from the game.
