Former Streetsville Derby, Orangeville Flyer and Trenton Golden Hawk Michael Radisa (photo credit - Gabe Dickens/Plattsburgh State Athletics), now with the Plattsburgh State University Cardinals, was named the SUNYAC Player of the Week for his recent performance this past weekend.

The Caledon, Ontario native played three full seasons in the OJHL, kicking off his junior career as an 18-year old in 2009-10 with the Streetsville Derbys.  After notching 11 points in 44 regular season games and another three points in 10 post-season contests, Radisa was on the move to Orangeville for 2010-11.  Radisa would improve his offensive output to 8 goals and 23 points in 48 contests, but would see himself on the move once again, joining the Trenton Golden Hawks following the season.  He would be a key member of the Hawks attack, registering 13 goals and 32 points as the club captured its first regular season Division title since 2004-05, but were upset in the first round of the playoffs by Kingston.

Below is the official press release from the Plattsburgh State Athletics website (www.gocardinalsports.com):

Michael Radisa of the Plattsburgh State men's hockey team has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 1.

Radisa was named to the PrimeLink Great Northern ShootOut All-Tournament team with a goal and two assists in a 2-0 weekend for the Cardinals. In Friday's 4-1 win over Wisconsin-Superior, Plattsburgh State scored two quick goals in a 3:12 span with Radisa picking up the primary assist on both goals. On Saturday, he tallied the third goal in a 3-1 win over Middlebury in the PrimeLink championship game. A sophomore forward from Caledon, Ontario, Radisa also played a key role on the Plattsburgh State penalty kill that kept its opponents off the board on eight power-play opportunities over the weekend.

In addition to Radisa's first career weekly conference award, the Cardinals claimed the top spot in Monday's USCHO.com Division III Poll and the D3hockey.com Poll. While Plattsburgh State spent a week at No. 1 in the D3hockey.com poll earlier this season, it has been quite some time since the Cardinals have been atop the USCHO.com rankings. Plattsburgh State last stint at No. 1 came in the 2009-10 USCHO.com Division III Preseason Poll on Oct. 26, 2009.

The Cardinals close out the semester on the road with a crucial weekend of conference games. Plattsburgh State travels to Cortland Friday night before wrapping up the trip with a stop in Oswego on Saturday. Both games are set for 7 p.m.
