MAIONE COMMITS TO WESTERN NEW ENGLAND
Orangeville Flyers forward Chris Maione (photo credit - Amy Deroche/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Western New England University Golden Bears, beginning with the 2015-16 ECAC Northeast Conference season.
The Aurora, Ontario native made his OJHL debut this season as a 20-year old after spending the 2012-13 season with the Junior 'C' Chippewa Riverhawks and last season with the Junior 'B' Brampton Bombers. Maione would start this past year with the defending champion Toronto Patriots, notching two points in the club's first nine games, before a trade saw him moved north to the Flyers. Unfortunately, Maione's season would be de-railed on December 31 when he suffered a season-ending torn ACL, however, the gritty, hard-working forward was a key contributor to the Flyers run that returned them to the post-season, recording 4 goals and 9 points in 24 contests with the team.
Congratulations to Chris and best of luck as he moves on to the next phase of his career!
