LUCA DURANTE FOLLOWS BROTHER ALONG NCAA GOALTENDING ROUTE
Goaltender Luca Durante of the Aurora Tigers (photo credit – Ray MacAloney/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the NCAA Division 3 SUNY Cortland Red Dragons in Cortland, NY beginning with the 2019-20 season.
Durante, 20, spent two and a half seasons with the Mississauga Chargers in the OJHL before being traded to Aurora on Dec. 23, 2018.
The Brampton resident had a .901 save percentage and 3.24 goals against average in 15 regular season games with Aurora. In five playoff games, during a first-round loss to Newmarket, his numbers were .925 and 1.94.
His brother Stefano, 22, plays goal for NCAA Division 1 American International in Springfield, Mass. Stefano played for Cobourg of the OJHL for three years, including their 2017 RBC Cup championship season.

The OJHL, the largest Jr. A hockey league in Canada, had more than 135 commitments in 2017-18, including 65 NCAA Division I scholarships.
