AURORA'S NELSON COMMITTED TO PROVIDENCE

Kaleb Nelson of the Aurora Tigers (photo credit – Ray MacAloney / OJHL Images) has confirmed his committed to join the NCAA Division I Providence College Friars in Providence, RI for the 2021-22 season.

The 16-year-old from Keswick has five goals, seven assists and 40 minutes in penalties during 23 games in his first season in the OJHL.

The winger played two games with the Tigers last season as an affiliate from the York Simcoe Express minor midgets.

Nelson was a fourth-round selection of Hamilton in this year’s Ontario Hockey League draft following a 54-point season with the Express.

The OJHL, the largest Jr. A hockey league in Canada, had more than 125 NCAA, U Sports, CHL and professional commitments in 2018-19 – including 65 NCAA Division I scholarships.
