MARKHAM DEFENCEMAN COMMITS TO PLATTSBURGH STATE
Kevin Weaver-Vitale of the Markham Royals (photo credit – Ray MacAloney / OJHL Images) has committed to the NCAA Division III Plattsburgh State Cardinals in Plattsburgh, NY for the 2020-21 season.
The 20-year-old defenceman from Toronto has six goals and 19 assists in 31 games with Markham this season.
Weaver-Vitale played for the Toronto Patriots last year. He saw limited action in the OJHL during previous seasons with the Lindsay Muskies, Burlington Cougars and Trenton Golden Hawks.
He played Jr. B with the Fort Erie Meteors in 2017-18.
OJHL graduates on this year’s Plattsburgh roster include former Buffalo Jr. Sabre Adam Tretowicz and Christian Difelice.

The OJHL, the largest Jr. A hockey league in Canada, had more than 125 NCAA, U Sports, CHL and professional commitments in 2018-19 – including 65 NCAA Division I scholarships.
