February 26 2020, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Kyle Bollers (Photo by Michelle Malvaso / OJHL Images) of the Brantford 99ers has been named the Warrior North-West Conference Player-of-the-Month for February after he tallied five goals and 11 assists during seven games.

Bollers, who was battling a late-season injury, had one game-winning goal for the 99ers who beat out the Georgetown Raiders for fourth place and the final playoff spot in the West Division during February.

Bollers tied Harrison Israels of Oakville for most points in the OJHL this season – 86. He tied Christos Rodis of the Pickering Panthers for the lead league in goals, at 39.

Now 20, Bollers played AAA minor hockey in Oshawa, Lindsay (Central Ontario) and Markham. He spent a year at Traverse City of the USPHL before cracking the Saginaw Spirit’s OHL roster for two more years. Last season was split between Aurora of the OJHL and his hometown Oshawa Generals, back in the OHL.

Brantford and Oakville will meet in the first round of the OJHL playoffs.

Connor May of the Stouffville Spirit was runner-up to Bollers as the North-West Conference Player-of-the-Month. The Stouffville native had eight goals and seven assists in eight games, including a six-point night in Aurora Feb. 7. May won the North/West Conference award in October.

Both Bollers and May hope to play for a U Sports school in Canada next season.
