The 21-year-old from Brampton joined the 99ers this season following three years in the Ontario Hockey League (Sudbury, Kingston, Hamilton).
Ali was a third-round selection by Sudbury in the 2015 OHL draft. He played minor midget for the Brampton 45’s followed by a season of high school hockey at St. Andrew’s College in Aurora.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound defenceman had 37 points (7G/30A) in 46 games with the 99ers.
“Conor was a real leader in and outside of our room,” said Brantford general manager Darren DeDobbelaer, ”always encouraging the younger players and offering positive reinforcement.
Conor was our QB on the power play and will leave an enormous hole to fill. We wish him all the best.”
Congratulations to Conor and best of luck in the OUA!
The OJHL, the largest Jr. A hockey league in Canada, had more than 125 NCAA, U Sports, CHL and professional commitments in 2018-19 – including 65 NCAA Division I scholarships.
