OAKVILLE'S HARRIS COMMITS TO SUNY GENESEO
Goaltender Adam Harris of the Oakville Blades (photo credit – Spencer Smye / OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the NCAA Division 3 SUNY Geneseo Knights in Geneseo, NY, beginning with the 2021-22 season.
Harris joined the Blades for the 2019-20 OJHL season, going 17-5-1 with a 2.08 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage.
The 20-year-old Burlington native played for the Jr. B Chatham Maroons the previous season. He’s a product of the Burlington Eagles and Oakville Rangers AAA organizations.
“Excited by the commitment of quick/athletic G Adam Harris (Burlington,ON) 3.5*,” SUNY Geneseo posted on its Twitter account, @GeneseoHockey. “He has a (high) hockey/goalie IQ, work ethic, calming presence, & as an ’01, has a (high) ceiling.”
Jamie Storr, Oakville’s head coach and governor, played 219 games in goal in the NHL.
“SUNY Geneseo is getting a great goalie and even better person in Adam Harris,” Storr told The OJHL. “Adam has proven at every level that he is capable of being the No. 1 goalie. He gives his team a chance to win every night. We look forward to watching Adam continue his path in school and hockey over the next four years at Geneseo.”
OJHL grads on the Knights’ 2019-20 roster included Tyson Gilmour (Wellington), Bryan Zurowski (Brantford, Buffalo) and Dan Bosio (Kingston).
