It’s National Volunteer Week in Canada!

The Ontario Junior Hockey League knows the value of the hundreds of people who step up to volunteer countless hours of their time every winter in the 22 arenas and communities of Canada’s largest Jr. A hockey league.

From those selling tickets and helping broadcast games, to the billets and board-room directors.

“The entire backbone of this amazing game we all love so much is based on people stepping up and giving of their time to volunteer,” said Ontario Junior Hockey League commissioner Marty Savoy. “From minor hockey to junior hockey, kids do not take a step on the ice without someone volunteering their time.”

When it’s deemed safe to do so, the OJHL looks forward to welcoming volunteers back into its facilities.

According to Volunteer Canada, the theme for Volunteer Week 2021 – The Value of One, The Power of Many – “reflects on the awe-inspiring acts of kindness by millions of individuals AND the magic that happens when we work together towards a common purpose”.
