OJHL ALUMNI TO CLASH IN STANLEY CUP FINAL
When the 2021 Stanley Cup playoffs began May 15, there were 31 Ontario Junior Hockey League graduates on the postseason rosters of the 16 competing teams.
With the Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning set to open the cup final in Tampa tonight, that number is down to five
Montreal’s roster includes Jake Evans, who played two star-studded seasons with the St. Michael’s Buzzers.
Canadiens teammates Josh Anderson (Burlington Cougars) and Tyler Toffoli (Toronto Jr. Canadiens) played in the OJHL as affiliates from their respective U18 and U16 teams.
Tampa Bay’s Anthony Cirelli (Mississauga Chargers) and Barclay Goodrow (Villanova Knights) played in the OJHL as affiliates.
