OJHL GRAD CARCONE MAKES NHL DEBUT WITH ARIZONA COYOTES

Former Stouffville Spirit forward Michael Carcone made his big-league debut with the Arizona Coyotes Tuesday.
“Really happy for Michael,” said Spirit Governor and General Manager Kenny Burrows. “He’s a great young man and an exceptional player. Glad he made it.”
Carcone played 10:27 with four shots on goal during the Coyotes’ 8-7 shootout loss to the San Jose Sharks in San Jose.

In his only season in Stouffville, Carcone had 37 points in 49 Ontario Junior Hockey League games during 2013-14. He graduated to Drummondville of the QMJHL where he had seasons of 41 and 89 – including 47 goals his second year – points.
Since 2016, the 25-year-old from Ajax has played in the AHL with Utica, Toronto and Tucson. He was reassigned to the Roadrunners in Tucson Wednesday.
Seven other Stouffville Spirit graduates have made it to the NHL: Will Acton, Darren Archibald, Drake Caggiula, Trevor Carrick, Mike Duco, Isaak Phillips and Chris Tanev.
