SELBY WARREN SNARES GOALTENDER OF MONTH AWARD FOR JR. CANADIENS

February 7, 2022, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Selby Warren of the Toronto Jr. Canadiens (Photo by Spencer Smye / OJHL Images) has been named its Warrior Goaltender of the Month for February.

Warren went 6-2-0 during the month, posting a 1.15 goals-against average with a .952 save percentage. Three of his wins were via shutout.

On the season, Warren is second in wins (20) and third in both goals-against average (2.00) and save percentage (.930) in the 21-team OJHL.

The 19-year-old from Toronto joined the Jr. Canadiens after playing for the OJHL’s Toronto Patriots in 2019-20. He previously tended goal for St. Michael’s College School and the Toronto Red Wings U16 team.

 

Matthew Perdue of the St. Michael’s Buzzers was runner-up to Warren as the Goaltender-of-the-Month. The Brampton native went 6-0-0 during February, posting a 1.14 GAA and a .963 save percentage. He had one shutout.

In 10 games in the OJHL with the Buzzers this season, he is 6-3-0 with a 2.21 GAA and .934 save percentage. The product of the Brampton 45’s AAA organization played one game last season with Red Lake of the SIJHL.
