2022 OJHL PLAYOFF SCHEDULE RELEASED
March 22, 2022, Mississauga, ON – The Ontario Junior Hockey League today released the schedule for the 2022 OJHL Playoffs.
Playoffs will begin on April 10 with the top four teams in each division qualifying for this year’s postseason. The postseason will feature best-of-three series in the first two rounds and best-of-five series for the Conference Championships.
The Nutrafarms OJHL Championship Series will be a best-of-seven series between the North-West and South-East conference champions.
“The OJHL is thrilled to be able to announce the dates for the 2022 OJHL Playoffs that will see the OJHL Championship team going directly to the Centennial Cup. After a long two years without playoff hockey our players, teams, fans and supporters are ready to get back to the excitement of OJHL playoffs,” said Marty Savoy, OJHL Commissioner.
Hockey Canada and the Canadian Junior Hockey League announced today the elimination of the Canadian Junior A Regional Championships. The OJHL Champions will qualify directly for the 2022 Centennial Cup presented by Tim Hortons in Estevan, Sask May 19-29, 2022 at the 2,700-seat Affinity Place. All nine CJHL member leagues from across Canada will send their champions to the National Championship tournament this year along with the host team.
“With a number of CJHL Member Leagues extending their regular seasons due to COVID-19 related impacts, the difficult decision to eliminate the process of the Regional Junior A Championships was made,” stated Savoy. “Having nine championship Junior A teams competing with a host team is going to make for an entertaining way to end the 2021-2022 season. With all nine CJHL leagues represented it is going to make for a great 11 days of Junior A hockey."
