April 8, 2022, Mississauga, ON – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that the Toronto Jr. Canadiens are the 2021-22 recipients of the Brant Snow Memorial Trophy. The award has been presented annually to the regular season champions of the 22-team OJHL since 2018.

The Jr. Canadiens finished the regular season – which ended last night – with 83 points, one more than the Pickering Panthers and two better than the Burlington Cougars.

The South Division champion Jr. Canadiens will have home-ice advantage throughout the 2021-22 playoffs. The OJHL postseason begins Sunday with games scheduled in all eight first-round series.

"Brant’s Snow’s impact on the game of hockey was not just at the junior level, but all levels of the game and the OJHL is proud to have our regular season championship named in his honour,” said OJHL Commissioner Marty Savoy.  “The Toronto Jr. Canadiens continue to drive success in the OJHL and are well deserving Brant Snow Memorial Trophy winners."

Mr. Snow, the long-time governor and president of the North York Rangers OJHL franchise, passed away five years ago. Mr. Snow also spent half a century as the driving force behind the Goulding Park Hockey Association. In a motion of condolence, the City of Toronto called him, “an extraordinary Willowdale resident who set the standard for sports volunteers across the city.”
