“Simon is a four-year OHL defenceman who we picked at deadline to solidify our back end,” said Huskies Head Coach/General Manager Ryan Ramsay. “Simon is a smooth skater and plays on both sides of the puck extremely well and shows great leadership on and off ice. He was counted on in many different game situations.”

The native of Renfrew played for the North Bay Battalion from 2017-22. He was acquired by the Huskies Feb. 5.

He scored eight goals and had 13 assists in 23 regular season games with the Huskies.

Former OJHL players on Waterloo’s 2021-22 roster included Dan Murphy (Mississauga), Andrew Cordssen-David (Georgetown, Trenton) Adamo Santia (Aurora, Newmarket) and Owen Burnell (Burlington).

Head Coach Brian Bourque was an assistant coach with Newmarket of the OJHL.

Congratulations to Simon and best of luck in the OUA and U SPORTS!

The OJHL, the largest Jr. A hockey league in Canada, has had more than 120 NCAA, U SPORTS, CHL and professional commitments in 2019-20 – including more than 45 NCAA Division I scholarships.
