COLLINGWOOD'S MCINTOSH IS OJHL WARRIOR NORTH-WEST PLAYER OF MONTH
October 11, 2022, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Mark McIntosh of the Collingwood Blues (Photo by Dave Fryer / OJHL Images) has been named the Warrior North-West Conference Player-of-the-Month for September after he tallied 16 points during eight games.
His 10 goals included two on the power play and four game-winners.
McIntosh took only two minor penalties for the Blues who went unbeaten during September. Collingwood was the top-ranked team in the Canadian Junior Hockey League during consecutive weeks.
The 19-year-old from Elora signed in Collingwood from the Guelph Gryphons AAA program in 2020. In announcing the commitment, Collingwood General Manager Mike Tarantino called McIntosh a “weapon up front Collingwood will not soon forget.” McIntosh totalled 20 goals and 27 assists during 54 regular season games with the Blues last season.
Aidan Hughes of the Milton Menace was runner-up to McIntosh as the North-West Conference Player-of-the-Month. The Mississauga native scored six goals and added 10 assists in eight games Hughes began his OJHL career with the Burlington Cougars in 2018-19 before moving to Milton the next year. He had 46 points (16G/30A) in 52 games with the Menace last season. The 10-0-0-1 Menace have the best winning percentage in the OJHL this season.
