THREE OJHL SKATERS ON NHL PLAYERS TO WATCH LIST
Three Ontario Junior Hockey League players have made NHL Central Scouting’s 2022 Preliminary Players to Watch List ahead of the 2023 NHL Draft: Cameron Eke of the Collingwood Blues, Giacomo Martino of the St. Michael’s Buzzers and Jack Ziliotto of the Mississauga Chargers.
The trio from the OJHL represent half of the six players on the list from across the 118-team Canadian Junior Hockey League
Each of the skaters were tabbed as ‘C’ skaters, which indicates them initially as potential fourth, fifth or sixth round draft candidates.
• A Colgate commit for 2024, Eke is a 6-foot-2 defenceman. The 17-year-old from St. Catharines has seven assists in nine OJHL games this season.
• Martino, 17, is in his second season with his hometown Buzzers in Toronto. Committed to NCAA D1 Northeastern for 2023, the forward has nine goals and 10 assists in 16 games this season.
• Ziliotto has scored eight goals and assisted on 12 more in his second season with Mississauga. The Waterdown resident has not made an NCAA commitment.
