The 21-year-old is a product of the North Bay Trappers AAA organization.
Schlueting signed in Collingwood this season after four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, including two each with the North Bay Battalion and Saginaw Spirit.
“Pacey has been a professional since coming back from Saginaw in the OHL,” said Collingwood GM Mike Tarantino. “He has provided our club veteran leadership and taken some of our younger D under his wing. On the ice, he provides a solid 200 foot game and contributes on both sides of the puck."
Schlueting praised his junior team while looking forward to next season.
“I want to thank the organization, staff, fans, my billets and my teammates for welcoming me with open arms at the beginning of the season and giving me this opportunity,” he told the OJHL. “I’ve had an amazing experience here in Collingwood and made memories that’ll last a lifetime in my final year of junior hockey, and couldn’t ask for anything more.
“I’m very excited to go back to my hometown and to be a part of such a great program. I’m grateful to be a part of such a special group and all focus is on the collingwood blues and winning a championship.”
Collingwood leads Stouffville 3-0 in their opening-round playoff series.
OJHL alumni on the 2022-23 roster at Nipissing included: Zachary Roy (Pickering), Josh Anderson (Cobourg), Devyn Mayea (Markham), Michael Palandra (Aurora, Brantford, Cobourg), Harrison Caines (Aurora) and Brock Welch (Whitby, Aurora, Cobourg).
Congratulations to Pacey and best of luck in U SPORTS!
