Today the Ontario Junior Hockey League has announced that Golden Hawks forward Adam Kim (Kingston, ON) has won this year's award for Scholastic Player of the Year. Adam joined the Golden Hawks this season after being acquired from the Johnstown Tomahawks of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) and suited up for the G-Hawks in 44 games, recording 50 points (20 G, 30 A). Prior to Johnstown, Adam played for the Kingston Voyageurs.

A graduate of Regiopolis Notre Dame High School in Kingston, Adam has been taking courses at Queen's University while playing Jr. A Hockey this season. Adam completed courses in Economics and Psychology, with the aim of attending business school and later pursuing a Masters Degree. Adam was able to maintain an A average with his courses at Queen's University while playing for the Golden Hawks this season.

Congratulations to Adam, and his family, on the award. The Golden Hawks wish Adam well as he continues to pursue his academic goals. The OJHL Scholastic Player of the Year award includes a $500 scholarship from the OJHL Foundation. Adam remains in contention as one of the 10 league finalists for Hockey Canada and CJHL's Scholastic Player of the Year award, representing the OJHL.
