Veteran Junior B D-Man joining the GHawks

The Trenton Golden Hawks are welcoming a veteran from the GOJHL to play his overage year in the OJHL.

Carter Lennon is a 6’1/195 pound 20-year-old from Kitchener.  He has played with the Elmira Sugar Kings and the Kitchener Dutchmen.

In the 2019-20 he notched 25 points and was named the GOJHL November Defensive Player of the Month.

Lennon says, “I have aspirations to play collegiate hockey.  Seeing the number of players this league moves to the next level, I felt it was a great place for my overage year.  It is a step I had to take, to give myself the best chance at getting there.”

As far as choosing Trenton Lennon says, “I got a call from Jerome (Dupont) a few months ago, and he and Peter (Coach Peter Goulet) came to visit me at home.  They pitched the program and it seemed like a good fit and a great place to play.  I knew Sullivan Sparkes who played with the team last year (2019-20).   He said he loved playing there, loved the staff, and everyone there.  That helped with my decision.”

Lennon describes himself as a puck moving defencemen.  “I am someone who can play in all situations, and I can play against other team’s best players.  It is important to minimize time in our own zone.”

He will be part of the team for the 2020-21 year.
