GHawks turn to OHL and CCHL for new acquisitions

8:48 PM EDT

Just a matter of hours after the Trenton Golden Hawks were named the CJHL’s #1 Team (week ending October 17), Head Coach/GM Peter Goulet announced two new players to help bolster the roster.

Goulet says the first player is Jordan Fuller from the Pembroke Lumber Kings (C.C.H.L).  “Fuller is a 5’8/161 pound, 18-year-old winger.  Fuller is a good kid; he has a lot of skill and can skate.  The staff is really excited to see what he can do.”

“We also acquired Parker Petruniak from the Oshawa Generals (OHL).  We were going to sign him this off-season, but he cracked the starting roster for the Gens.  Oshawa acquired another D-Man, which left an opportunity for us to bring him to Quinte West.  He is a big 18-year-old at 6’5, who will help with the injuries on our back end.  Our focus is to help develop him, with the hopes of helping him continue in his hockey career.  It will be great to have him in the black and gold.”

Petruniak says this team is exciting. “I want to continue adjusting.  It is hockey, so it is all similar.  I am a big D, I like to move the puck, move my feet and separate players from the puck.  I am looking forward to showing my teammates what I can do.

Fuller says he is happy about the move. “Peter (Goulet) is a great coach, this organization is unbelievable.  Just looking forward to getting my feet wet and hope things go well.  So far the guys have treated me like family.”

Fuller and Petruniak are both expected to be in the line-up Thursday as the Hawks travel to Caledon.  Their next home game is Friday night when they welcome Mississauga at 7:30 p.m.
