SOLD OUT Crowd Expected Friday night vs Wellington - Dress Purple Game Details
Friday night is going to be a fun and exciting evening as the Wellington Dukes make their first trip into Trenton this season to meet our Golden Hawks.
It is Game 2 of the regular season battle known as the Hasty Ps Cup. This is the 3rd year the two teams are meeting in this head-to-head challenge. It honours the Hastings-Prince Edward Regiment, the most decorated Canadian infantry regiment from World War 2.
The game is also expected to be the largest crowd since the 2017 Dudley Hewitt Cup final between Trenton and the Georgetown Raiders, which featured NHL star Jack Hughes and Trenton's second consecutive Central Canadian Championship.
Friday night will be a fundraiser evening called the Dress Purple Game. Proceeds of the game go to The Children's Foundation. Each member of the GHawks will have their own purple jersey worn/issued for the night. Each one will be up for auction. There will also be a other items on the auction table.
Two great sponsors have also helped with the evening. Environmental 360 Solutions purchased hundreds of tickets to the game. Those tickets were handed over to The Children's Foundation to sell and to give to their donors and deserving children. Meantime, Beckie Sarles-Davis of Talbot Promo, who created the jerseys, is donating $50 from every goal to The Children’s Foundation.
At this point, there are no seats available for the game, however, there are some standing room passes for sale. You will need a game pass or game ticket to be admitted. The cost is $5 per pass
On Friday evening starting at 4:00 p.m., the Golden Hawks Box Office will sell the passes (in-person only). These passes will not provide a seat in the arena, however you will be able to watch the game from a standing position in the bowl or the Trenton Kinsmen Bar. If you do see a vacant seat ten minutes into the game, you may sit there, so long as the ticketed person does not arrive. Our goal is to get as many people into this wonderful game as possible.
Due to the high attendance expected, doors will open at 6:00 p.m. The Trenton Figure Skating Club is using the ice until 7:00 p.m., and we ask those coming early to be respectful of their time.
With the recent recommendations of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, attendees are most welcome to wear masks.
If you wish to inquire about remaining passes for the game, you may call 613.885.4235
