2010 OJBLL Season Kicks-Off
The 2010 OJBLL season gets underway this weekend with 6 games on the schedule. All the teams involved are Western Conference teams as the first game involving Eastern teams will be Tuesday night when the Mississauga Tomahawks host the expansion Toronto Beaches at Clarkson Arena at 8pm.
Friday, April 16
Spartan at Hamilton
Hamilton went 0-3-0 at the Six Nations Spring Showcase and Spartan were 0-3-1 in pre-season. In 2 regular season meetings in 2009, Spartan outscored Hamilton 20-8 in a pair of victories. This game will be played at the Lawfield Arena.
Windsor at Guelph
Windsor went 0-2 in pre-season while Guelph was 2-0. The two teams met at the Elora pre-season tournament with Guelph winning 11-6. Windsor won the only 2009 meeting between the two clubs 11-6.
Sarnia at Wallaceburg
Geographic rivals tangle in the season opener for both teams. Wallaceburg went 1-1-1 at the Six Nations Spring Showcase while Sarnia were 0-3-0 at the same event and then dropped an ex game to London 14-8.
Saturday, April 17
Windsor at Owen Sound
Owen Sound pulled off the biggest upset of last year's playoffs by knocking off the #1 seed Windsor. Windsor will be playing their second road game in as many nights to open the season.
Sunday, April 18
Hamilton at Six Nations
Six Nations won 5 of 6 pre-season games with their only loss to Halton Hills. Hamilton will be playing their second game of the weekend, but their first road game of the season.
Guelph at Welland
Welland's home opener will pay tribute to team founder Bill House who passed away during the off-season. Welland went 1-2-0 at the Spartan tournament.
