CCHL ANNOUNCES CCM/HESN PLAYER/GOALIE/ROOKIE OF THE MONTH HONOURS FOR FEBRUARY

The Central Canada Junior A Hockey League (CCHL) is pleased to announce the CCM/HESN Player/Goalie/Rookie of the Month awards for February.
The Player of the Month is Grant Hebert of the Cumberland Grads. Hebert who won the same honour in December was productive compiling 14 points (2G, 12A) in 9 games played in February. The Grads forward continued his scoring prowess and leads the league in overall scoring with 88 points (24G, 64A) in 58 games played. The Robert Morris University commit is one of the main reasons Cumberland is still in play-off contention.
The Goalie of the Month for February is Liam Lascelle of the Cornwall Colts. The Colts netminder was outstanding, no regulation losses posting a 6-0-2 record with a 2.22 GAA and .939 Save Percentage. The Cornwall, ON native won his first 5 starts in February, so impressive he was selected a 1st game star three times as well as a 2nd and 3rd for his efforts in his eight games. Lascelle has won 18 of his last 22 starts, losing only one in regulation and three in overtime. The Colts are tied for second overall in the CCHL and he is currently 2nd In Save Percentage (.925) and 3rd in GAA (2.40) for the season.
The Rookie of the Month for February is Merrick Rippon of the Ottawa Jr. Senators. Rippon who earned the same honor in October accumulated 6 points (2G 4A) in ten games where Ottawa went 6-4 for the month. The rookie defenseman and Providence College commit continues to play an integral role in all situations for the Jr. Senators.
