Huge game by Starrett boosts xSouth Shore Kings over xPhiladelphia Flyers, 6-2

Beau Starrett was all over the ice for xSouth Shore Kings, as he tallied one goal and three assists in xSouth Shore Kings' 6-2 win over xPhiladelphia Flyers.

Starrett beat Joseph Young with a shot 30 seconds into the second period on the power play to make the score 1-0 xSouth Shore Kings. John Marino picked up the assist. Starrett dished an assist on Logan Day's goal that made the score 2-0 xSouth Shore Kings at 4:11 into the second period. He then added assists on Day's goal at 4:33 into the second and on Day's goal at 9:19 into the third.

xSouth Shore Kings forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up seven minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. xSouth Shore Kings had been averaging 19.0 minutes in penalties per game. xSouth Shore Kings kept xPhiladelphia Flyers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Young made 26 saves on 32 shots. xSouth Shore Kings found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. xSouth Shore Kings averages 3.5 goals per game. xSouth Shore Kings capitalized on xPhiladelphia Flyers' penalties, netting three goals while skating with a man advantage. xSouth Shore Kings' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

xPhiladelphia Flyers' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as xPhiladelphia Flyers finished with 44 penalty minutes.

xPhiladelphia Flyers was helped by Zach Lynes, who tallied one goal. Lynes scored on the power play 12:00 into the second period to make the score 3-2 xSouth Shore Kings. A hooking penalty on Anton Lindstrom had put xPhiladelphia Flyers on the power play. Ryan Badger assisted on the tally. xPhiladelphia Flyers also got a goal from Gianni Evangelisti as well. More assists for xPhiladelphia Flyers came via Trevor Gooch, Ryan Ferrill, and Brandon Bistodeau, who contributed one a piece.

Connor Maher recorded 24 saves for xSouth Shore Kings. xPhiladelphia Flyers registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For xPhiladelphia Flyers, Jonathan Smith was ejected from the game.
