Bessinger's goals lift South Shore Kings to 3-1 victory over Portland Jr. Pirates

Tommy Bessinger was all over the ice for South Shore Kings, as he tallied two goals in South Shore Kings' 3-1 win over Portland Jr. Pirates.

Bessinger's tallies came on the power play at 12:15 into the second period to make the score 1-0 South Shore Kings and 19:59 into the third to make the score 3-1 South Shore Kings.

South Shore Kings forced Portland Jr. Pirates goalie Shane Starrett to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

South Shore Kings also got a goal from Armand Uomoleale as well. In addition, South Shore Kings received assists from Anton Lindstrom, who had two and Perry Holcombe, Jonas Toupal, and Timothy Boyle, who contributed one a piece.

Portland Jr. Pirates was led by James Winkler, who scored the team's only goal. Winkler scored on the power play 1:10 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Portland Jr. Pirates had taken the advantage when South Shore Kings' Tyler Whitney got sent off for holding. Jesper Bargard provided the assist.

Connor Maher made 21 saves for South Shore Kings on 22 shots. South Shore Kings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Starrett recorded 37 saves for Portland Jr. Pirates. Portland Jr. Pirates incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For Portland Jr. Pirates, Grant Universal was ejected from the game.
