Bay State Breakers falls to Jersey Hitmen in overtime, 2-1 (OT)
Jersey Hitmen's Luke Veitch scored 5:06 into overtime to beat Bay State Breakers, 2-1 (OT).
The win by Jersey Hitmen clinched the best of three series at 2-0.
Jersey Hitmen's Chris Funkey was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 44 saves and let only one puck past him. Funkey managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.65 prior to the game.
Bay State Breakers' power play was ineffective against Jersey Hitmen's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.
Jersey Hitmen forced Bay State Breakers' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 52 shots and forcing 50 saves. Jacob Bryniarski made 35 stops and Benjamin Halford made 15. Jersey Hitmen's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Bay State Breakers power plays.
