Springfield Pics blows out New Hampshire Jr Monarchs, 11-2

Springfield Pics had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 11-2 win over New Hampshire Jr Monarchs.

The win by Springfield Pics clinched the best of three series at 2-0.

Springfield Pics' offense was sparked by Kevin Loppatto, as he ended with four assists in a victory against New Hampshire Jr Monarchs.

New Hampshire Jr Monarchs was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as Springfield Pics was able to score five times while on the power play.

Springfield Pics made New Hampshire Jr Monarchs' netminders to work in net, getting 45 shots and forcing 34 saves. Cory Lignelli made 30 stops and Arthur Haase made four.

Springfield Pics additionally got points from Brian Brown, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Stephen Gaul, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Spencer Antunez, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Daniel Mele, who also had two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Springfield Pics included John Carricato, who had four and Garrett Torrico and Mikhail Bryan, who scored one goal each. In addition, Springfield Pics received assists from Santino Ragone, who had two, Anthony Ragone, who had three, and Christopher Sattler and Ryan Sullivan, who each chipped in one.

New Hampshire Jr Monarchs was led by Nick Branchina, who tallied one goal. Branchina scored on the power play 8:05 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Springfield Pics. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs had gained a power play chance when Torrico was whistled for cross checking. Cam Laughlin picked up the assist. Ross Mandigo also scored for New Hampshire Jr Monarchs. Other players who recorded assists for New Hampshire Jr Monarchs were Davis Algra, who had one.

Michael Dion made 20 saves for Springfield Pics on 22 shots. Springfield Pics incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs totaled 60 minutes in penalty time with five minors and two majors and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For New Hampshire Jr Monarchs, James Moeller, Aaron Peters, and Jordan Landwehr were ejected from the contest.
