The Douglas make the most of 6 hits in 6-5 victory over the Columbia Basin
Both the Douglas (17-19) and the Columbia Basin (32-14) put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was the Douglas that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 6-5 win at Titan Field .
Taylor Lawrence racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Douglas. He doubled in the fourth inning and tripled in the fifth inning.
Gunnar Buhner had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He tripled in the first inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and singled in the ninth inning.
Even though Jamie Whitehead allowed five runs over 8 1/3 innings he still recorded the victory, his fifth of the season. Whitehead struck out three, walked none and gave up nine hits.
JD Page (6-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
