Whalen helps the Lower Columbia down the Treasure Valley 5-3
Seaver Whalen collected three hits, sparking the Lower Columbia (38-9) to a 5-3 victory over the Treasure Valley (33-16) on Friday at David Story Field.
He singled in the third and fifth innings.The Treasure Valley couldn't get anything going so long as Christian Parsons was on the hill. Parsons gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his two innings of work.
Stephan Zanoni racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Treasure Valley. He singled in the second innings and tripled in the sixth inning.
Tony McCarty handled the Lower Columbia's lineup with ease, racking up three strikeouts. The Treasure Valley's pitcher gave up just six hits over five shutout innings.
Tanner Olson recorded his fifth win of the year for the Lower Columbia. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Olson struck out four, walked one and gave up six hits.
Daulton Blackwell ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
