Penn-Trafford hangs on, beats Seneca Valley 1-0

Penn-Trafford took the lead against Seneca Valley in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 1-0 victory.

A goal 2:08 into the first period by Nathan Mickey proved to be the game winner, and powered Penn-Trafford to the victory. Cody Grkman picked up the assist.

Eric Phelps frustrated Seneca Valley's offense all game, and stopped 37 shots en route to a shutout. Phelps managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 6.12 prior to the game.

Penn-Trafford pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 26 penalty minutes.

Penn-Trafford excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Penn-Trafford did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 12 shots on net to force 11 saves.

Seneca Valley's offense operated below its season average. Seneca Valley puts an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game. Penn-Trafford was unable to stop Seneca Valley from sending pucks towards the net, and Seneca Valley eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Penn-Trafford registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Penn-Trafford ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Steven Cheswick was ejected from the game. Seneca Valley's Alyssa Peterson stopped 11 shots out of the 12 that he faced. Seneca Valley incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
