Huge game by Milan boosts Baldwin over Norwin, 10-3

Max Milan had two goals and three assists to lead Baldwin to a 10-3 victory over Norwin.

Milan scored at 11:53 into the first period to make the score 2-2 and again while 12:15 into the first to make the score 3-2 Baldwin.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 13:16 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts.

Baldwin was often in penalty trouble, totaling nine minors and one major for 43 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 15.0 minutes per game Baldwin had been spending in the box. Norwin was unable to stop Baldwin from sending pucks towards the net, and Baldwin eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. Baldwin surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, Baldwin averages 4.2 goals per contest. Baldwin was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to two goals off of 14 man advantages. Baldwin got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Baldwin also got points from Tyler Rush, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Paul Knerr, who also had four goals and two assists to lead the team in points, and Kenny Dee, who also finished with one goal and three assists. Others who scored for Baldwin included Dominic Carlino and Dan Figura, who scored one goal each. In addition, Baldwin received assists from Cody Lemp, Jacob Dorrance, and Nickolas Antonio, who contributed one each.

Norwin forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 10 minors and two majors for 70 minutes in penalty time. Norwin surpassed its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Norwin did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 12 shots on net to force nine saves.

Norwin was helped by Alex Borowski, who registered one goal. Borowski scored 3:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Norwin. Daniel Kiester picked up the assist. Norwin additionally got points from Brandon Butler, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Norwin also got a goal from Donovan Orlosky as well. More assists for Norwin came via Michael DAndrea, who had one.

Cole Shannon recorded nine saves for Baldwin. Baldwin ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Carlino was ejected from the game. Anthony Barca made 33 saves for Norwin on 43 shots. Norwin registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Team's Noah Mazur and Kiester were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
