Baldwin beats North Hills 5-4 after comeback scare

North Hills tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but Baldwin would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

Baldwin made the score 5-2 on a goal by Kenny Dee at 7:10 in the second period, and North Hills got as close as 5-4 when Jeremiah Polaski scored 6:05 into the third period.

Max Milan was all over the ice for Baldwin, as he had two goals in the win. Milan found the back of the net 5:45 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Baldwin and again while 14:05 into the first to make the score 4-2 Baldwin.

Baldwin kept North Hills' goalie busy throughout the game, and Dominic Porco made 26 saves on 31 shots. The defensemen of Baldwin were also effective in North Hills' zone, and came away with two goals.

Baldwin additionally got points from Paul Knerr, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Dee, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Baldwin came via Tyler Rush, Easton Tamburri, Nickolas Antonio, Dominic Carlino, and Russ Zofcin, who contributed one each.

North Hills' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Baldwin power plays.

North Hills was led by Gannon Warrick, who tallied three goals and one assist. In addition, North Hills received assists from Jeremy Zihmer, Jesse Weideman, Samuel Urbanek, Kellen Kraus, Joseph Gavin, and Nathan Waters Virgin, who each chipped in one.

Cole Shannon recorded 12 saves for Baldwin. Baldwin incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. North Hills incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
