Mt. Lebanon uses early goal to top Plum, 4-2

Joseph Phillips scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and Mt. Lebanon held off the challenges of Plum in a tough 4-2 win.

Mt. Lebanon took over the lead for good with a goal by Phillips at 16:10 in the first period.

Mt. Lebanon was paced by Anthony Sandora, who racked up one goal. Sandora scored 6:10 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Mt. Lebanon.

In a losing effort, Plum was sparked by Stephen Shields, who had two goals. Shields scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 16:56 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Mt. Lebanon. Plum earned a power play opportunity when Matthew Simmonds was put in the box for cross checking. Shields' next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Mt. Lebanon with 5:46 left in the third period. Dillon Joyce picked up the assist.

Mt. Lebanon additionally got points from Griffin Nelson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Mt. Lebanon also got a goal from Benjamin McGraw as well.

Plum's offense rang up 31 shots on Mt. Lebanon's net.

Ryan Wetherington rejected 29 shots on goal for Mt. Lebanon. Mt. Lebanon incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Plum's Nathan Puhala stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Plum incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
