Huge game by Wensel boosts Wheeling Catholic over Serra Catholic, 9-5

Kyle Wensel was all over the ice for Wheeling Catholic, as he tallied two goals and six assists in Wheeling Catholic's 9-5 win over Serra Catholic.

Wensel scored on the power play at 4:29 into the second period to make the score 5-1 Wheeling Catholic and again while 5:18 into the second to make the score 6-1 Wheeling Catholic.

Wheeling Catholic bested its season scoring average. Wheeling Catholic averages 6.7 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Wheeling Catholic also got points from Christopher Furka, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Chase Edgerton, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Luke Edgerton, who also had three goals and four assists. Wheeling Catholic also had goals scored by Ryan Gossett and Derek Dearth, who each put in one. In addition, Wheeling Catholic received assists from Sean McFarland and Gus Heath, who contributed one each.

Serra Catholic got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.
